SUBJECT: REPLACEMENT OF TYRE PLACARD LABEL
MODELS AFFECTED: TF RODEO- LT SPORTS MODEL ONLY
This bulletin announces t he initiation of a recall cam paign to apply the correct tyre placard label to
some TF Rodeo LT Sport m odel vehicles.
This field action was initially launched as a rework program on the 17th April 2002, outlined in
RL26/02 but has since been reclassified to a r ecall cam paign.
Those vehicles previously reworked are not affected and therefore DO NOT REQUIRE THIS
CAMPAIGN ACTION.
DESCRIPTION O F DEFECT
There have been some Rodeo LT Sport vehicles retailed where the recommended tyre inflation
pressures are missing f or t he wheel and tyre pack age f itted to the vehicle.
To cor rect this sit uation, Holden has init iated t his recall act ion to ensure t hat every af f ected vehicle
is updated to include the correct tyre placard label in accordance with the Australian Design Rule
requirements.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
The affected vehicles are only Rodeo LT Sports models, (8DS62 model code) within the inclusive
VIN rang e as per Table 1 below.
Other Rodeo m odels among st the r ange below are NOT AFFECTED. Only the LT Sports m odel is
affected!

Note: The 10th letter in the VIN indicates the Model Year e.g. Y=2000, 1=2001.
Some stock vehicles were previously reworked at Port Of Entry and will have two tyre placards
fitted as shown in Figure 1 over page but not the appropriat e Vehicle Ser vice Histor y co-or dinat e
mark ed. These vehicles are not aff ect ed by this r ecall cam paign action.
If a cust om er presents you with one of these vehicles and has received a customer vehicle recall
letter we req uest that you repor t to Holden via a PIR.

ACTION REQUIRED BY DEALERS
1. Confirm vehicle VIN is within affected range and that vehicle is an LT Sports model. ie Model
Code is 8DS62.
2. Org anise a vehicle book ing.
3. Confirm vehicle has not previously been reworked. (ie Identified by an ‘X’ in the A-3 co-
ordinate of the Vehicle Service Histor y Label).
4. Confirm vehicle has not been reworked at Port Of Entry, by inspecting that a second tyre
placard label has not been fitted.
5. If vehicle has not been re work ed, pr oceed with campaign.
6. Note: Each retailer was sent a quantit y of 3 labels with the rework init iation back in April, 2002.
Refer to retailer letter 26/02. A further two labels have been distributed with this letter.
Order additional tyre placard labels free of charge from Salmat by completing and faxing the
Material Order Form. (Refer to Appendix C).
Retailers should only order par ts to replenish their stock af ter rework ing a vehicle by including
the VIN number on the mater ial order f or m . A maximum of 2 labels per order can be
requested.
Do not over order, as there are only 910 vehicles involved in this campaign. Allow three (3 )
days for labels to ar r ive.
7. Apply the new tyre placard label. Ref er t o Appendix B.
8. Affix a Campaign Completed Label and a Vehicle Service History Label as specified in the
section titled ‘Cam paign Completion I dentif icat ion’.
9. Submit a warrant y claim. Refer Warranty Claim Inf or mation.

CUSTOMER NOTIFI CATION
Owners of vehicles af fect ed by this recall campaign will be contacted directly by letter f rom Holden
via registered m ail.
The letter provides details of the recall and requests t he customer to contact their Holden Retailer
to mak e a service booking and have the appropriate work carried out. Ref er to Appendix A for a
draf t copy.
CAMPAIGN COMPLETION IDENTIFICATION
All campaigned vehicles must have:
1. A Campaign Com pleted label applied to the right hand fr ont ‘A’ pillar, between the hing es, with
details of t he campaign, 02-H-04, Dealership code and date leg ibly entered on the label with a
permanent ink pen. AND
2. For additional identification, mark an “X” at the A- 3 co-ordinate of a Vehicle Service History
Label and apply to the outer edge on the left-hand side of the glovebox. Refer to Figure 2
below.

PARTS INFORMATION
Under the rework instructions in RL26/02, retailers were sent an initial supply of 3 tyre placard
labels and advised to order replacement parts through HSPO.
Effective immediately, additional parts will only be available free of charge through SALMAT and
can be ordered by completing the Material Order Form, (refer to Appendix C) and faxing it to
SALMAT.
Retailers should only replenish their stock after a vehicle has been reworked by including the
vehicle VIN number on the or der form.
A maximum of 2 labels can be or der ed per form.

APPENDIX A - Draf t – Cust omer Let t er
Dear Holden Customer ,
As part of Holden’s ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction, we have initiated a Vehicle
Recall Campaign affecting some TF Rodeo LT Sport s model vehicles.
Holden has been made aware that an incorrect tyre placard has been fitted to some of these
vehicles.
In these cases the tyre placard does not specify the recommended tyre inflation pressures for
the wheel and tyre package fitted to the vehicle. It is an Australian Design Rule requirement
that the tyre pressur e inf ormation is on t he label.
To ensure the tyr e placard includes the recommended t yre inflation pressure for the wheel and
tyre package fit t ed to your vehicle, anot her t y r e placar d needs t o be applied.
Our records show that your Holden vehicle was manufactured with the incorrect tyre placard. It
is ther efore necessary f or you to m ake a booking, at your convenience, w ith a H o l den Reta iler of
your choice to have the cor r ect tyre placard f itted.
Work will be carried out free of charge and can be completed while you wait, provided the
necessary arrangem ent s have been made with a Holden Ret ailer .

APPENDIX B - Tyre Placard Fitment Inst ruct i ons
Note: Do not remove the original tyre placard or attach the new placard over the existi ng
one as it is still possible to fit the prescribed set of w heels and tyres to this vehicle.
1. Clean the driver’s side C-pillar surface where the placard is to be applied using solvent to
ensure good adhesion ( eg. Prepsol) – Refer Fig. 1.
2. Place the supplied t yre placard, P/N 8971067000, in the position shown in Figure 1 on pag e 2.
Position the placard 50 millimetres down from the end of the door seal and 15 millimetres out
fr om body seam.
3. Ensure that no air bubbles ar e present beneath t he label.
4. Adjust the t yre pr essur e accor ding to the rework placard label.
