V6 Oil Pans and Dipsticks – the oil pans and dipsticks used in VX & VY V6 engines are specific to each model –
because of the revised oil volume used in VY. Make sure you do not accidentally fit the wrong part should a new oil
pan or dipstick be required! Dipsticks are identified by stamped part number! Check them on Partfinder to be sure.
VY New Vehicles DTC10 set – Some Retailers have noticed during predelivery checks that DTC10 is set. This only
occurs on vehicles without Occupant Climate Control and can be ignored on these vehicles. The Tech2 software
required to clear this code will be available on TIS 36.0. A techline will be published in Issue 11.
VY Silver Park Brake Handle – T he silver park brak e handles require s pecial care whenever perf orm ing service work
around the centre console area to prevent them being scratched. Apply a protective covering over the handle as
required.

Gen 3 Rocker Arm Retaining Bolts
This is to remind technicians that the rocker arm retaining bolts are a consumable bolt, which requires that they be
replaced whenever they are removed for any reason. They must not be reused.
For a complete list of consumable bolts for all V and W models refer to Holden PV SIP CD Service Information m ain
menu page.
A/T 3rd Gear Whine Noise - VY/V2/WH current build
A few technicians have reported that they have had trouble diagnosing an A/T 3rd gear whine noise and have actually
believed the noise to be electrical interference coming through a speaker. To assist with diagnosis into such high
pitched whine noises – drive the vehic le at around 60km /h (usual com plaint s peed) in 3rd – while listening to the noise,
change from 3rd to 2nd and the noise should stop – shift back to 3rd and the noise should re-start. Where the high
pitched nois e is def ined as being within the A/T, us ing this method – replac e the A/T with a SRT A unit and f ax off a PIR
about the case.
XC- SRS Light On - DTC B0024 - Diagnosis Hint
If you have a vehicle with this symptom check for damage to the wiring harness that runs between the glovebox and
centre cons ole c ompartment below the radio. Remove glovebox to view this area. Thank s to Brett Dignam of Mc Gr ath
Holden for the PIR reporting this condition.
