FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR

SPARE WHEEL WELL HEAT SHIELDS

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove spare wheel from spare wheel well.
2. Sedan - Remove jack handle and jack from stowage compartment and remove jack stowage
compartment. On Statesman and Caprice models, remove storage bin from spare wheel well
by removing two screws. Refer appropriate Service Manual.
3. Clean floor and spare wheel well on LH side of rear compartment where butyl patch heat shields shall be
attached.
NOTE: Warm heat shields prior to applying to ensure entire area of patch adheres to sheet metal. Attach heat
shields to sheet metal as smoothly as possible.
4. Wagon - (a) Peel backing paper from first heat shield. Align top edge of heat shield to top edge of spare
wheel well and rear edge of heat shield approximately 20mm from rear panel. Attach shield
to wall of spare wheel well, refer Figure 2, View A and Section A-A.
(b) Peel backing paper from second heat shield. Align second heat shield to lower edge of first
heat shield and attach, refer Figure 2, View A and Section A-A.
Sedan - (a) Attach two heat shields to wall of spare wheel well as described for Wagon (above).
(b) Peel backing paper from third and forth heat shields and attach to rear compartment floor,
refer Figure 2, View B and Section A-A.
(c) Trim fifth and sixth heat shields as shown in Figure 1.
(d) Peel backing paper from fifth and sixth heat shields and attach onto jack stowage area wall,
refer Figure 2, View B and Section A-A.
5. Refit storage bin to model applicable and spare wheel to spare wheel compartment.
6. Sedan -Refit jack stowage compartment then stow jack handle and jack.
