CAUTION:

HSV vehicles are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). An SRS consists of seat belt

pre-tensioners (fitted to all front seats), and a driver’s-side air bag or a driver’s-side air bag AND a

passenge r’s-side a ir bag and left and right hand sid e air bag s. Refe r to C AUTIO NS, Sectio n 12M, o f the

VT Series I Service Information or Section 12M, of the HSV VT Series II Service Information before

performing any service operation on or around SRS components, the steering mechanism or wiring.

Failure to follow the CAUTIONS could result in personal injury or unnecessary SRS syste m repairs.

GROUP 0A - GENERAL INFORMATION

The HSV VT-2 series is a new design featuring new HSV major assemblies such as body styling, seats,

suspension, engine and exhaust system, new HSV body components, and new HSV internal fittings and

convenience items. These HSV components, assemblies and fittings are not described in service-type manuals

produced for standard Holden models.

In addition, the m anufacture of one HSV VS M aloo will con tinue and the model has been further de veloped b y the

incorporation of upgraded systems and fittings. Again, these HSV systems and fittings are not described in

manuals produced for standard Holden models.

The purpose of this Supplement is to provide information on the unique HSV components fitted to HSV VT-2 and

HSV VS vehicles. The information in this document is designed to supplement the information contained in the

Holden VT Service Information and VS Series Service Manuals, and details are given where differences occur

between the HSV models and standard Holden models. A series of instruction drawings describe the design

changes and indicate specific part numbers, fitting instructions and relevant notes for vehicle servicing.

This supplement is divided into Sections and each Section addresses a specific subject - for example, Section D

discusses Brake Systems. In addition, supplementary Service Bulletins will be issued (as the need arises) to

describe service operations on new systems and/or new vehicles not previously described in this supplement.

These supplementary Service Bulletins will be issued in numerical sequence.

Terms used in this document accord with the contents of International Standard ISO 1087 (1990). In addition,

other terms are used to indicate that precautions must be taken during the servicing procedures that follow. The

terms used are Caution and Note, and these terms have the following meanings:
