1 General Information
The HSV GTS, GTO and LE Coupe Series 3 are facelifts of the HSV Series 2 Coupe.
Sheet metal for HSV GTS, GTO and LE Coupe Series 3 is carry over from Holden V2 Series Coupe.
The powertrain combinatio ns available for H SV GTS, GTO and L E Series 3 Coupe are c arry over from HSV VY Series 2
Clubsport and GTS models.
NOTE
• When using trolley jack to raise the
vehicle it is important that the jack be
positioned under the suspension cross-
member, or hoist pad locations.
• Do not jack under the suspension
control arm.
• The vehicle should be al ways supported
by jack stands at the hoist pad locations
when raised.
• Care must be taken not to damage the
side skirts when jacking the vehicle.
The purpose of this Supplement is to provide information on the unique HSV components fitted to these vehicles. The
information in this document i s designed to supplement the information contained in the Holden Service Information, and
details are given where differences occur between the HSV models and standard Holden models. A series of instruction
drawings describe the design changes and indicate specific part numbers, fitting instructions and relevant notes for
vehicle servicing.
This supplement is divided into Sections a nd each Section addresses a specific subject - for example, Section D
discusses Brake Systems. In addition, supplementary Service Bulletins will be issued (as the need arises) to describe
service operations on new systems and/or new vehicles not previously described in this supplement. These
supplementary Service Bulleti ns will be issued in numerical sequence.
Terms used in this document accord with the contents of International Standard ISO 1087 (1990). In addition, other
terms are used to indicate that precautions must be taken during the servicing procedures that follow. The terms used
are Caution and Note, and these terms have the follo wing meanings:

1.1 HSV Build Plate
HSV vehicles can be identified by the HSV Vehicle Build Plate, which is mounted in the engine compartment. An
example of an HSV Build Plate is shown in drawing 1A2F030038.
