Electronic Throttle Control Supplement
ATTENTION:
HSV vehicles are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). An SRS consists of seat belt pre-
tensioners (fitted to all front seats), a dri ver’s-side air bag , a passenger’s-sid e air bag and left and right hand
side air bags. Refer to CAUTIONS, Section 12M, in Volume 12M of the Holden V2 Coupe Service Manual
before performing any service operation on or around SRS components, the steering mechanism or wiring.
Failure to follow the C AUTIONS cou ld result in personal injury or unnecessar y SRS system repairs.

1 General Information
HSV released two Coupe 4 models in MY2004. Early MY2004 Coupe 4 models were equipped with cable throttle control
which was updated to Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) in the last half of MY200 4.
ETC equipped vehicl es also have several minor upgra des over the non ETC vehicles as listed bel ow:
• The Instrument Centre Gauge Pod now reverts to using the standard Holden Centre Gauge Pod. For all repair and
service information Refer Section 1A-3 of Holden MY2004 VZ Service Information.
• The Engine Cover has been upgraded to a “clip on” design. Refer illustration 08I-030017.
