1 General Information
New wheel and tyre combina tions have been introduced for MY 2004 AWD Wagon vehicles and are shown in this
Section. The following table provides information regard in g the recommended wheels and tyres. For all other details,
refer to Section 10 Wheels And Tyres of the MY2003 VY and V2 Service Information.
Model Engine Wheel Size Tyre Size
CX8 V8 7.5JJ x 17” 48P 225/55 R17
LX8 V8 7.5JJ x 17” 48P 225/55 R17
The original tyre fitted to this vehicle has
reinforced tread and sidewalls and has been
specifically developed for this AWD vehicle.
When tyre replacement is required, it is
strongly recommended that the replacement
tyre/s be of the same specification
(Bridgestone Turanza ER30) as originally
fitted to this vehicle.

1.2 Tyre Placards
Wheel and tyre sizes, inflation pressures and load
capacity are specifie d on a tyre placard (1) located on
the end surface of the driver door (2), refer to
Figure 10 – 3.
Always check tyre pressures with COLD tyres (after
vehicle has stood for three hours or more, or driven less
than 2 km) and should be che cked weekly or before any
extended trip.
When checking tyre pressure, visually inspect tyres for
excessive wear, sharp objects embed ded in the tyre or
damage to the sidewalls.
NOTE
Clean valve exterior, prior to applying air
pressure nozzle when inflating t yre.
Always install valve caps to k eep out dust
and water.
Figure 10 – 3
The tyre placard shown in Figure 10 – 4 is typical of
those fitted on the vehicle.
Refer to 2. Specifications in this Section or the Tyre
Placard on the driver’s door for the correct wheel and
tyre size and tyre pressures.

1.3 Tyre Markings
The tyre sidewall has a coded marking system, which
provides information about the t yre.
Tyre Marking Example:
225 55 R 17 97 V
225 = Section Width (1) – mm (225 mm)
55 = Aspect Ratio % (Section Height (2) to Section
Width (1) (55 = 55%)
R = Tyre Construction (R = Radial)
17 = Rim Diameter – inches (17 = 17”)
97 = Load Index – kg (91 = 615 kg max. load)
(92 = 630 kg max. load)
(93 = 650 kg max. load)
(94 = 670 kg max. load)
(95 = 690 kg max. load)
(96 = 710 kg max. load)
(99 = 775 kg max. load)
V = Speed Rating (H = 210 km/h)
(V = 240 km/h)
(W = 270 km/h)
