1 General Information

The basic HVAC system as fitted to MY 2004 AWD Wagon vehicles is carried over from MY 2003 VY Series vehicles.

HVAC Occupant Climate Control (Auto A/C) is fitted across the AWD Wagon model range as standard equipment. Low

level models are fitted with single zone systems, while high level models are fitted with dual zone systems. HVAC

Climate Control (Manual A/C) is not available. However, major components which are common to both manual A/C and

OCC (Auto A/C) air conditioning systems such as the condenser, filter drier receiver, compressor, evaporator, heater

core, blower fan, engine cooling fans and water valve are identical to those used on MY 2003 VY Series vehicles.

All MY 2004 AWD Wagon vehicles are fitted with a GEN III V8 engine. All models are also fitted with a high power engine

co oling fan system (430 W), which is identical to tha t used on the previ ously released MY 2003 VY Series Regular Cab

vehicles. The regular cab engine cooling fan operating strategy is carried over as well. A unique design of front bumper

bar fascia and lower air chute extension are also part of the MY 2004 AWD Wagon engine cooling package.

NOTE

Although HVAC Climate Control (Manual A/C) is

not fitted to MY 2004 AWD Wagon vehicles, most

of the information contained within the above

reference applies also to Occupant Climate

Control (Auto A/C) type systems.
