1 General Information
With the following exceptions, MY 2004 VY Regular Cab and Crew Cab Exhaust System information carries over from
MY 2003 VY Regular Cab vehicles:
• Front and intermediate exhaust assemblies
• Exhaust system cleara nc es

1.1 Front and Intermediate Exhaust
Assemblies
MY 2004 Regular and Crew Cab vehicles adopt the front and intermediate exhaust assemblies from MY 2004 VY Series
vehicles. The front exhaust assemblies each include a close coupled catalytic converter and meet the Euro 2 emissions
standard. Euro 2 is a European standard that aims at setting vehicle emissions targets to encourage vehicle
manufacturers to reduce harmful vehicle emissions such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and the various
oxides of nitrogen (NOx).

2.1 Exhaust System Clearances
V6 Engine Exhaust
V6 Exhaust System clearances for the front and intermediate Y-pipe carry over from the MY 2004 VY Series vehicles,
refer to Section 8B Exhaust Systems in the MY 2004 VY and V2 Series Service Information.
The intermediate and rear muffler exhaust system clearances carry over from the MY 2003 Regular Cab vehicles, refer
to Section 8B in the MY 2003 VY Regular Cab Service Information.
Gen III V8 Engine Exhaust
Gen III V8 front exhaust system clearances carry over from the MY 2004 VY Series vehicles, refer to Section 8B Ex haust
Systems in the MY 2004 VY and V2 Series Service Information.
