SECTION 12E - CRUISE CONTROL
IMPORTANT:
Before performing any Service Operation or other procedure described in this Section, refer to Section
00 CAUTIONS AND NOTES for correct workshop practices with regard to safety and/or property damage.
1. GENERAL I NFORMATI O N
1.1 VX AND VU SERIES II MODELS
The cruise control system used on VX and VU Series II Models carry over from VT Series II Models, noting the
following:
A new headlamp and turn signal stalk (that includes the cruise control switch) has been fitted.
For inf ormation regarding the c ruise control sytem f itted to VX and VU Series II Models not covered in this section,
refer to Section 12E CRUISE CONTROL in the VT Series II Service Information.
1.2 WH SERIES II MODELS
The cruise control system used on WH Series II Models carry over from WH Series I Models, noting the following:
A new headlamp and turn signal stalk (that includes the cruise control switch) has been fitted.
For information regarding the cruise control sytem fitted to WH Series II Models not covered in this section, refer to
Section 12E CRUISE CONTROL in the WH Series I Service Information, in conjunction with Section 12E CRUISE
CONTROL in the VT Series II Service Information.
2. SERVICE OPERATIONS
2.1 CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH
REMOVE AND REINSTALL
The cruise control switches are integrated with the
headlamp and turn signal switch stalk located to
the right of the steering column.
Removal and installation instructions for the
headlamp and turn signal control switch stalk are
as described in Section 12B LIGHTING SYSTEM
in this Service Information.
TESTING SWITCH CONTACTS
With the cruise control system control switch lead
disconnected from the main wiring harness, check
the cruise control switch contacts as follows:
Attach an ohmmeter to the appropriate terminals
nominated in the following chart and depress and
hold button as directed. The ohmmeter will read
approximately 470 ohm resistance when the
button is depressed and show an open circuit
when released.
If the nominated value is not achieved, replace
the cruise control switch assembly.
