SECTION 12M - SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT
SYSTEM
IMPORTANT
Before performing any Service Operation or other procedure described in this Section, refer to
Section 00 CAUTIONS AND NOTES for correct workshop practices with regard to safety and/or
property damage.
1. GENERAL I NFORMATI ON
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) fitted to WH Series Statesman and Caprice Models, version 8.1, is a six
loop system which carries over form VT Series Models.
A six loop SRS consists of; front seat belt pre-tensioners and driver’s, front passengers and side air bags.
For all information regarding the SRS, including General Information, Service Operations, Diagnostic procedures,
Torque Wrench Specifications, and Special Tools, refer to Section 12M SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
of the VT Series I Service Information.
NOTE: When using TECH 2 on a WH Series Model, ensure the correct Model Year and Vehicle Type is selected:
(X) 1999 WH Statesman & Caprice.
