1 General Description
With the following exceptions, MY 2004 WK Series Exterior Ornamentation information carries over from MY 2003 VY

This Section describes the service procedures for the ornamentation components such as emblems, name plates,
moulding s and fini she r s.
Many of the components in this Section are affixed to the vehicle with double-sided tape or urethane adhesive. It is
imperative that the correct materials are used when reinstalling these parts, as specified in this Section. Use of materials
other than those specified may lead to premature failure.
The badging on the WK Series differs depending on the Level of the vehicle and whether it is for the domestic or export
market.
On the front of the vehicle, domestic vehicles have a horizontal badge showing the Lion and Wreath on the hood. For
export vehicles, Level 1, 2 and 3 have the Chevrolet 'Bow Tie' on the radiator grille and Level 5 vehicles have an upright
Chevrolet emblem that stands alone on the front of the hood.
All vehicles have a fender name plate depending on whether they have a V6, V8, are Supercharged or High Output V8.
The Level 3 export vehicle also has an SS rear door name plate.
On the rear of the vehicles, domestic vehicles have a Lion and Wreath badge. For export vehicles, Level 1, 2 and 5 the
emblem is the Chevrolet 'Bow Tie' and Level 3 has an Impala emblem on the rear compartment lid. The export vehicles
also have a rear compartment lid name plate.
The rear compartment lid moulding assembly is new. Domestic level 4 vehicles have a Statesman moulding assembly
and all other vehicles have the Caprice moulding assembly.
The body side mouldings have an extra section of length to cover the front of the rear quarter panel. The body side
mouldings are bright chrome for Level 1 vehicles, Level 2, 4 and 5 vehicle body side mouldings are body colour with a
bright chrome strip and Level 3 vehicle body side mouldings are painted totally body colour.
To aid in identification and service procedure location, refer to the pictorial index diagrams on the following pages.
