CHANGEOVER PROCEDURE FOR RADIO CA SSETTE PLAYER – CD STACKER UNIT
In 1990 Eurovox, in conjunction with Holden, initiated a radio/cassette changeover service to allow rapid
replacement of defective radio/cassette units (ADL 47/90). Although not formally announced, this program has
expanded to include the compact disc units.
To identif y opportunities to fur ther improve the servic e provided and ac hieve the obj ec tives and requir ements of this
program, the standard operating procedures for the changeover service have recently been reviewed.
The following enhancements have been initiated:
1. Revised changeover procedure for supply and return of audio units.
2. Revised fault diagnosis form in flow chart form at. This form has been designed to lead the technician through
the audio unit diagnosis step by step.
3. Revised changeover request form . This f orm conc entrates on symptom s assoc iated with the audio unit failure.
A brief customer interview will be required to correctly complete this form.
4. The appointment of a Eurovox quality liaison representative. Eurovox has appointed Mr Colin Moreland to the
position of Quality Liaison Representative. Colin will spend a considerable amount of time visiting and liaising
with Dealerships to provide product support. Specifically his role will include:
Providing assistance to the Dealers in the methods of correct diagnosis.
Assisting in the diagnosis of difficult complaints.
On site, at dealership assistance with problems relating to the changeover service.
Liaising with difficult complaint customers where assistance is requested by the Dealer.
Eurovox will notify Dealerships in advance of Colin’s visits. Dealerships are encouraged to take full advantage of
Eurovox’s initiative in this respect. Dealerships can contact Colin by phone on 1800 658 694 or 0419 559 465.
The audio unit warranty changeover service was initiated by Eurovox at Holden’s request so that warranty related
defects affecting audio system components could be rectified effectively and without major inconvenience to
customers.
Continued product improvement and ongoing availability of changeover units hinges on the speed at which
defective units are returned to Eurovox. On rec eipt of the r eturned unit, Eurovox will perform root caus e analysis for
problem resolution purposes and report to Holden, and will refurbish the unit for return back into the changeover
system.
Whilst Eurovox has initiated action to improve their service to Holden Dealerships, a commitment from every
Dealership to comply with the procedures and diagnosis requirements is also required. For the changeover
program to work effectively, service staff must follow the fault diagnosis charts and complete the Dealer changeover
request form and fax them to Eurovox on (03) 9237 0808.
Please ensure all service staff are aware of these requirements and comply with the procedures at all times.
Should any difficulties be encountered with the changeover system, contact Eurovox directly:

RADIO/CASSETTE/COMPACT DISC PLAYER - CHANGEOVER PROCEDURE
The changeover service must operate as follows:
1. DIAGNOSIS/REPORTING OF DEFECT
1.1 The Eurovox fault diagnosis flow charts provided with this procedure will enable technicians to determine that
the problem is in fact internal in the audio unit.
Four diagnosis charts are supplied:
General section
Radio section
Cassette section
CD section
1.2 The diagnosis flow chart must be followed precisely. Dealerships must accept responsibility for correct
diagnosis, as audio units replaced unnecessarily will not be accepted under warranty.
1.3 W hen com pleting diagnosis, technicians should fill in all appropr iate inform ation. Tic ks s hould be placed in the
boxes provided to indicate the path of diagnosis. Dealers need only complete those diagnosis sheets relevant
to the unit fault.
2. ORDERING OF CHANGEOVER UNIT
2.1 When the audio unit has been determined to be at fault, fax a completed Changeover Request Form and
completed Fault Diagnosis Chart to Eurovox.
W her e a cas sette tape has jam m ed in the player, fault diagnos is is not required and the F ault Diagnosis Chart
need not be com pleted. Do not f orc e the cas s ette tape f ree as this may damage the tape mec hanism, m as king
the original fault.
Note:
This Changeover Request Form has had several revisions. The latest version is appended to this document. Please
destroy other versions to avoid using an obsolete form.
Eurovox will only automatically supply a changeover r adio unit when the Changeover Request Form and the
appropriate Fault Diagnosis Chart have been correctly completed. The Dealer will be informed within three (3)
hours of the original request being made if the request is rejected. The reason for rejection will be clearly given.
It is the res ponsibility of the Dealer ship to ensure the f orm s are corr ectly completed, or contac t Eurovox where
difficulties are encountered.
2.2 When the changeover request has been accepted, a replacement unit will be dispatched and timed to arrive
two (2) days before the customer’s car is booked in. To assist in this arrival date, the dealership must give a
date required. The term ‘ASAP’ will not be accepted.
Note:
Included with the changeover unit will be a prepaid Ansett air f r eight s atchel. Dealer s must us e this s atchel to r etur n
the faulty unit to Eurovox (this satchel must not be used for any other radio). Eurovox will record consignment
details of the prepaid satchel provided, which will be used to assist in tracking units to Eurovox.
